Meet Lucy, a six year old, 140lbs Boerboel, also known as the South African Mastiff.  She is huge!  She is also, incredibly sweet and plays nice with my 10lbs Chihuahua.  Lucy belongs to Emily or Emily rather, belongs to her. 

I met Emily when my family moved to the street where her family lived.  I was 7.  She was 8.  When my family moved from the street where we grew up, Emily and I remained friends, because we are more than friends.  We are family.  Emily has been a huge support during some of my most difficult times.  She does so with out prompting.  (Which is good, because I have a very hard time asking.)  Our friendship has taught me to ask for help when truly needed, because I can trust that she will always answer the phone.  And yes, I have always answered the phone for her too.  We share a lot of crazy childhood memories.  We grew up in each others homes and it’s going to be pretty funny when we are old and wrinkled, with whatever ailments we gain as time goes by, to listen to each other retell stories in our rocking chairs and quilted blankets.

But for now, meet Lucy, the 140lbs Boerboel, to whom Emily belongs.
